The Stio Home Team is a seasonal grassroots ambassador program composed of outdoor enthusiasts who act as passionate brand advocates and community connectors. Members are outfitted with gear to support their pursuits and authentically share their mountain lifestyle on Instagram and/or TikTok. Applications open each spring and fall, with ambassadors selected each season to represent both Stio and their local community.

Cooper Warrington | Colorado | @coopwarrington
Skier, Fly Fisherman, Photographer, Student
Cooper was born and raised in Colorado, with one foot always planted firmly in the mountains. As a full-time student and devoted backcountry skier, he splits his time between the classroom and the alpine. Powder days are sacred to him, but he’s learned that balance is essential.

When he’s not immersed in academics, Cooper is bootpacking ridgelines, exploring tree lines, or casting dry flies on remote alpine creeks. Being outdoors slows his pace and sharpens his focus. He thrives in the quiet details—a sunrise breaking through fog, the drift of a fly, the stillness between winter storms. Whether it’s capturing first light with a camera or squeezing in one last run before rushing to class, he’s constantly chasing that fine balance between adventure and responsibility, risk and reward, challenge and joy.

Life in the mountains has shaped him to be present, adaptable, and mindful. Whether he’s skinning into the backcountry or helping someone navigate their first turns, Cooper brings intention and gratitude to every moment. He’s always looking for ways to give back or pay it forward.

Dylan Hale Thornton | Montana | @dylanhalethornton
Father, Ski Guide, Consultant
Dylan’s connection to the outdoors began in an off-grid cabin in the Maine woods, where he grew up living close to the land and spending most of his time outside. His love for wild places was deepened on the slopes of The Pinnacle, a small hometown ski hill in Pittsfield, Maine, where he spent his childhood lapping the rope tow and learning to love winter. That passion grew into a 25-year career as a ski guide, mogul coach, educator, and now as a consultant helping outdoor brands and organizations create more inclusive, connected and values-driven communities.

Based in Bozeman, Montana, Dylan partners with nonprofits, resorts, and mission-aligned companies across the country to break down barriers to outdoor access and foster meaningful relationships between people and place. When he’s not consulting or guiding, he’s likely outside with his daughter, trail running, paddleboarding, skiing, or road-tripping to National Parks.

Heather Walser | Idaho | @mineralspringsmama
Whitewater Enthusiast, Hot Springs Explorer, Weekend Warrior
Fueled by sunshine, river currents, and the joy of discovery, Heather is an adventure mama based in Idaho. Whether she’s scouting remote hot springs or navigating whitewater with her family in tow, she lives for moments that blend nature, connection, and a bit of wild spontaneity.

From Idaho’s canyon rivers to high alpine lakes, Heather’s mission is to cultivate community, protect wild places, and remind others that adventure can be as simple as packing snacks, loading the raft, and saying yes.

Her passion lies in making the outdoors feel welcoming and accessible, especially for women and families. You’ll find her organizing river cleanups, chasing the next soak, summit, or sunset, and helping others feel confident stepping into nature, no matter their background or experience.

Left to Right: Jess Smith, Katherine Hall, Laura Matsen

Jess Smith | California | @jessicasmith_lee
Mountain Biker, Trail Steward,  Skier, Lover of Mountain Communities
Jess’ deep appreciation for the outdoors was instilled early in childhood growing up in the Sierra Nevada foothills adjacent to the Lake Tahoe Basin, which she now calls home. After time away from mountain life to jump start a career in finance, the lifelong skier and athlete rekindled her love for speed and exploration and has returned to the mountains and community that she loves. When not working, Jess is on her local trails, chairing the board of the Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association (TAMBA), or at home with her partner and pups Willow and Sasha.

Katherine Hall | Washington | @hitched_and_halling
Mom, Nurse, Hiker
Katherine is a travel nurse originally from Florida, who embraced the RV lifestyle. She hit the road full-time and eventually made Washington her home base. She lives the RV life with her family, filling her days with hiking, backpacking, camping, snowshoeing, skiing, and laid-back moments by the river or at the park. On days off from work, you’ll often find her wandering the trails of the Cascade Mountains or adventuring through Mount Rainier National Park.

Blending motherhood with adventure, Katherine believes the outdoors is the best place to grow, learn, and connect. She’s on a mission to inspire and empower parents, especially moms, to get outside with their kids—proving that meaningful adventures don’t require perfect plans, just a little curiosity and a willingness to explore. Through her journey, she encourages families to take their kids along on the adventure, showing that the best memories are made together in the wild.

Laura Matsen | Washington | @lauramatsen9
Surgeon, FKT Mountaineer, Mom, Biker
Laura is a hip and knee joint replacement surgeon based in Seattle, focused on helping people with arthritis get back to the activities they love. Coming from an active family, she is committed to restoring my patients’ mobility—whether that means walking, cycling, climbing, skiing, or hiking.

She takes the time to really know each patient, which makes my work rewarding and engaging. Outside the OR, her two biggest joys are my children and outdoor adventures—especially ski mountaineering across the Pacific Northwest. Whether climbing Mount Baker, Mount Rainier, or Mount Hood, she's always exploring new routes.

These adventures fuel her strength and focus, which she brings to every surgery. With experience treating thousands of patients and a passion for what she does, she's dedicated to delivering the best care possible.

Left to Right: Mallory Janiszewski, Mary Eliot Stone, Meghan Buchanan

Mallory Janiszewski | California | @malloryjacksonn
Thru Hiker, Skier, Photographer, Interior Designer
After losing her father, Mallory walked 2,653 miles along the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada to heal. The months she spent moving through deserts, mountains and forests became a powerful journey of transformation and renewal. She drew strength from memories of how her dad introduced her to camping at a young age in Michigan. That connection gave her the courage and determination to keep moving forward through every challenge.

Now based in South Lake Tahoe, California, Mallory is a mountain local who finds inspiration right in her backyard. She captures moments from backpacking trips, skis fresh powder with friends, and designs spaces inspired by nature. In everything she does, she creates with purpose.

Mary Eliot Stone | Colorado @dunnobutlikehiking
Fundraising Consultant, Fly Fisherwoman, Mountaineer
Mary Eliot keeps her fly rod and touring skis in the car year-round—ready to chase trout or turns at a moment’s notice. When she’s not working as a nonprofit fundraising consultant in Denver, you’ll find her hiking with her Bernese mountain dog, Bear, and exploring Colorado’s high country.

Originally from the East Coast, Mary Eliot spent several years living in Idaho before heading to grad school and eventually settling in Colorado. A three-time NOLS grad, she lives for big views, cold plunges, river trips with friends, and the kind of adventure that leaves you a little sore but fully reset. Last year she summited Kilimanjaro; this year, she’s focused on refining her fly-tying and mentoring other women by showing them how to tie flies and get more comfortable on the water. Whether it’s skinning for spring corn, casting into alpine streams, or soaking in a hot spring after a backpacking trip, Mary Eliot is always looking for ways to stay connected to the wild places that fuel her most.

Meghan Buchanan | Colorado | @ggrit
Aerospace Engineer, Mountaineer, Nonprofit
Meghan Buchanan is an Aerospace Engineer, Adventure Athlete, and Keynote Speaker aiming to become the first American woman to complete the Adventurers Grand Slam—climbing the world’s Seven Summits and skiing unsupported to both the North and South Poles.

Diagnosed with dyslexia at age 7, Meghan overcame early adversity and stereotypes to pursue a career in aerospace engineering. She holds a BS and ME from the University of Colorado and works full-time as a Senior Principal Engineer.

Meghan’s passion for the outdoors began hiking Colorado trails with her father. In 2011, a severe snowboarding accident nearly ended her adventure dreams, but she fought back—not only to regain mobility, but to take on the Seven Summits challenge. In May 2022, she became the first “Rocket Scientist” to summit Mt. Everest and complete the Seven Summits. By April 2026, she will finish the Explorers Grand Slam with a Last Degree Ski to the North Pole.

Through her GGRIT™ philosophy, Meghan inspires others to defy limits and prove the extraordinary is possible. She dedicates her expeditions to raising awareness for dyslexia and learning disabilities, actively working to change how society views and supports the neurodivergent.

Patrick Roy | Utah | @tacopat_
Freeskier, Mountain Biker, Outdoor Educator
Born and raised in the woods of Vermont, Patrick grew up exploring the hills around his home. He found his passion as a kid, playing in the dirt on his bike. The love for the snow and skiing soon followed. Now based in Sandy, Utah, he is a year-round mountain athlete and coach who’s built his life around sharing his passion for the outdoors.

Patrick is a ski coach at Brighton Resort in the winters. When the snow melts, you’ll find him on two wheels or on the waterways—-exploring the trail and water networks with friends, leading youth mountain bike camps and keeping the stoke high as a camp counselor. On or off the mountain, Patrick is a dedicated steward of the outdoors, working to educate the next generation in respecting and enjoying the wild.

Shannon and Joel | Colorado | @whistlepigpups

Equine Surgeon & Emergency Veterinarian, Outdoor Enthusiasts, Dog Lovers
This husband-and-wife team are both outdoor enthusiasts living life on the go. They find solace outside. When not working, they recharge playing, adventuring, and challenging themselves outside. They love capturing their time outdoors in a way that they hope feels approachable, encouraging others to also step outside, finding their own joy in nature.

In June, they will head west to Abajo Mountains in Utah for the Bears Ears Ultra. This summer they plan to take advantage of all Colorado has to offer—from community to ponds and peaks, trails and travels, runs and rides. As outdoor enthusiasts they seem to enjoy it all, from hiking to fly-fishing, rock climbing to running, and biking to mountaineering. You can find them road-tripping in either Sexy Rexy (their converted van) or Charlotte (their TAXA Cricket).

Shannon and Joel live a dog friendly lifestyle and love sharing their experiences adventuring with their dogs, Brewster and Ansel— sharing their knowledge of dog friendly trails, hikes, and trips.

Their goal is to stay positive and authentic in all they do—and to inspire others to enjoy the outdoors.
